I am running because I believe in Alaska, I believe in the constitution, and I believe in government of, by and for the People.
I'm ready to defend the financial well-being, healthcare access, education of our children and access to food and fair energy prices for all the people of Alaska and our communities.
Working together as a Team in AntarcticaI know that Alaskans are the hardiest, most inventive and freedom loving people you will find anywhere.
I've been in Alaska since 1968 and the Upper Susitna Valley since 1978. I have hunted, packed moose and caribou, fished, dip-netted, and harvested Alaska's bounty my entire life. After 8 years of Alaska's current administration cutting education, continually presenting deficit budgets and failing to develop a good faith working relationship with Alaskan legislators, it's time to get to work and keep our way of life.
I have worked since I was 14, graduated Su-Valley in 1983 and received my Associates Degree at University of Alaska - Fairbanks. I've had an amazing career in Aviation Business Management with an emphasis in book-keeping, contracts, Federal Aviation Regulations, and HR. I spent 10 years in Antarctica. Six of those years were working for a sub-contractor of SPAWAR (Space and Naval Warfare) in the Air Traffic Control Department conducting Helicopter and Drone Flight Coordination and Flight Following with an International community in Antarctica. Also, I am a small business owner in Talkeetna.
My husband is a retired Air Force Pararescueman, whose motto is: "That others may live". He and I share a passion for service. He has served America in every foreign conflict since 1983. His knowledge and background of service have had a profound impact as we have shaped our lives together this past 21 years. Also, his love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors is what drew us together and keeps us close. I am so blessed to have his full and unstinting support in this campaign!
I believe in community service.
Board Member Experience:
Northern Valley Health Coalition (President)
Sunshine Community Health Center (President)
Upper Susitna Food Pantry
Mat-Su Convention & Visitors Bureau (President)
Denali Arts Council
Talkeetna Historical Society
Served on the Mat-Su School Board in 2008.
I have also worked on the following working groups:
Regional Aviation System Plan: tasked to determine how best to encourage growth in aviation and promote aviation safety and compatible development.
Appointed to the State of Alaska public/private organization: ATIA – Alaska Travel Industry Association 2009 & 2010
ATIA Marketing Committee with an annual budget of 10 – 15 Million.
I have served my community the same way I plan to serve the people of my district: Open to, and research for, the best ideas to creatively solve Alaskan issues, but also ready to do the occasionally onerous, often tedious work of bringing these ideas to fruition.
My top priority will always be to advocate for our communities in District 30 and to work with others in the Legislature to get it done.
Guiding Principles:

I believe in identifying problems - while keeping the primary focus on solutions.
Incivility and violence are not acceptable. Mutual respect is the only way forward.
Recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all persons is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.
Talent: Identifying obstacles and overcoming them.
We can dig out of this together.
