I am running because I believe in Alaska, I believe in the constitution,

and I believe in government of, by and for the People.

I'm ready to defend our communities' access to the things that bring a sense of stability and well-being to daily life: food, healthcare, fair energy prices, and a quality education for our children. These are bare minimum standards that we should be meeting for the people of Alaska, who are the hardiest, most inventive, and freedom-loving people you will find anywhere. 

58 years in Alaska has given me a truly unique perspective. I've hunted, packed moose and caribou, fished, dip-netted, and harvested Alaska's bounty my entire life. I have worked since I was 14, graduated Su-Valley in 1983 and received my Associates Degree at University of Alaska - Fairbanks.

• Mat-Su Convention & Visitors Bureau (President)

• Denali Arts Council

• Talkeetna Historical Society

• Elected to and served on the Mat-Su School Board in 2008.

I have also worked on the following working groups:

• Regional Aviation System Plan:  tasked to determine how best to encourage growth in aviation and promote aviation safety and compatible development.

• Appointed to the State of Alaska public/private organization:  ATIA – Alaska Travel Industry Association 2009 & 2010

• ATIA Marketing Committee with an annual budget of 10 – 15 Million.

I have served my community the same way I plan to serve the people of my district: a lot of hard work, positive attitude, with passion and all-in dedication. My top priority will always be to advocate for District 30 and to work with others in the legislature to ensure the needs of working families in Alaska remain front and center.

Twenty years at the Talkeetna State Airport, nine seasons in Antarctica, starting my own business and helping to start the non-profit (Northern Valley Health Coalition) has provided in depth experience in all aspects of business management, including: Book-keeping & Tax Preparation, Contracts & Negotiation, Federal Aviation Regulations, Crisis Management, Drug/Alcohol Program Management, and hiring/termination/training and mentoring people.

Five of the nine years in Antarctica involved working for a sub-contractor of SPAWAR (Space and Naval Warfare) in the Air Traffic Control Department where I gained invaluable experience in an International context: conducting Helicopter and Drone Flight Coordination, Flight Following, MOU/MOA, training people and working as a team in high stress situations.

My husband is a retired Air Force Pararescueman, whose motto is: "That others may live". He and I share a passion for service. He has served America in every foreign conflict since 1983. Also, his love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors is what drew us together and keeps us close. I am so blessed to have my families full and unstinting support in this endeavor to represent you in Juneau.
